Artist Bio:
David Ahlsted is a realist painter, though his work tilts slightly toward the abstract as he searches for beauty and surprises hidden in ordinary things.
David is a professor emeritus at Stockton College, and also served as a professor at Skidmore College and his alma matter, Indiana University, where he earned his MFA.
His work is permanently installed in the New Jersey State Capitol.
David has lived and worked in southern New Jersey for more than 35 years.
“When my wife was a patient at Cooper, we both were impressed by the exceptional care she received. We also recognized the important role of art in helping people get back on their feet again.”
